This text editor wisely (I think) chose to support the WindowsScriptingHost (or WSH) method of embedding MacroLanguage code into the editor. Thus, you can use any MacroLanguage that supports WSH to code in. This include JScript and VBScript as well as Perl. It also has the ability to search for text across multiple files as well as performing replacement/substitution across multiple files. Tabbed editing is supported. I have the Pro version and have been pretty happy with it. I use EmEditor anytime I need to handle Unicode. Check them out! (EricPement)
EmEditor Professional can record and play keystrokes and mouse operation against other applications and includes plug-ins such as Projects, Snippets, HTMLBar, FindBar?, and Word Complete. The program also includes lots of objects for macros, the Macros Toolbar, and portability options (such as USB drive setup) through an Import/Export? wizard, as well as, virtual space mode, wrap indent, tabbed window design, vertical selection editing (to allow the editing of text in column format), binary editing, smooth scroll, theme feature for color settings, and crash auto-recovery. EmEditor Professional also includes these features: grab text, search and replace (including regular expressions), indent guides, function bar, auto-panning, and an EmEditor Quick Start option which allows the EmEditor window to open very quickly.
There is currently one version of EmEditor avaliable from the official website: the Professional Version ($39.99).
