This is a great ISPF editor clone, thus a member of the IbmEditorFamily. It runs in OS, DOS,OS/2,Windows, Linux and AIX. I use it in Windows XP and Linux. I think it is the only ISPF like editor than runs on all of those platforms.

It is a mature editor but as of today, 08/27/2006, it is still being actively developed.

This has moved to github. I recommend getting the current version the author calls the 'Bug Fix Version' over the official release version.

In my opinion this is a must have for the mainframers of the world who like the ISPF environment. I would also recommend it for companies who have mainframers moving to Unix like service.

Thanks! I have downloaded it and am playing with it now. Since the demise of TSPF and relative cost of PC/SPF I haven't had a chance to play with a nice ISPF clone. I hope it supports REXX!

My only suggestion at this point is to make the "setup" function choose 'default' as the initial font selection. Otherwise, it looks strange when first starting up.

Update: 11/25/2006 - He implemented this! It's in the most recent version. RonPerrella

This now supports MVS via Hercules! You can edit datasets, etc from XE. This might be an option for those who don't feel too comfortable using the RPF editor. I'd still like to see a port to the mainframe but everyone, including the author, seems to think XE would be too hard to port.

I think the author said this should work in conjunction with a real mainframe, too but I don't think it's been tested.
