It would be nice to have consistent design standards and InterchangeStandards? between text editors. [NO, IT WOULDN'T. THIS WOULD BE TIRANNY!]

Vocabulary should be standardized as well:

Files
Windows
Buffers
Views
KeyBindings
KeyChords
Scripts
Macros
etc.

Also, it is not possible to share many configuration files. [FREEDOM TO THE DEVELOPER]

It would be great to share syntax highlighting info, macros, and other such things 'tween editors. [NO, IT WOULD NOT!]
