Atom.io - text editor developed by GitHub '''Author:''' http://github.com/atom '''Homepage:''' http://atom.io '''Family:''' ElectronFamily, [[IDEFamily]], TextMateEditorFamily '''Platform:''' OS X, Windows, Linux x86_64 '''License:''' MIT Update: No longer developed and github project is now archived. Atom is a new text editor based on [https://cloud.githubusercontent.com/assets/482957/8272112/3a4ec350-1837-11e5-8b69-03e0dd8e949f.jpg Chromium]. On June 25, 2015, <nowiki>GitHub</nowiki> released version 1.0, available for OS X, Windows and Linux (x86_64) at their site and on [https://github.com/atom/atom/releases GitHub]. Atom is a desktop application based on web technologies. Like other desktop apps, it has its own icon in the dock, native menus and dialogs, and full access to the file system. Node.js support makes it trivial to access the file system, spawn subprocesses, and even start servers directly from within your editor. Atom is composed of over 50 open-source packages that integrate around a minimal core. Our goal is a deeply extensible system that blurs the distinction between "user" and "developer". Features * File system browser * Fuzzy finder for quickly opening files * Fast project-wide search and replace * Multiple cursors and selections * Multiple panes * Snippets * Code folding * A clean preferences UI * Import TextMate grammars and themes '''Screenshot:''' https://cloud.githubusercontent.com/assets/2/8295777/dc43a516-18fc-11e5-9b49-7c45f09442f6.PNG
