Open Watcom is a joint effort between SciTech? Software Inc, SybaseŽ and the Open Source development community to maintain and enhance the Watcom C/C++ and Fortran cross compilers and tools. An Open Source license from Sybase allows free commercial and non-commercial use of the Open Watcom tools.

The Open Watcom package includes compilers for C++ and F77, plus associated tools, including an editor similar to vi. The editor comes in DOS, Windows console, and Windows GIU versions.
