BBEdit has been around since roughly the dawn of the Mac and continues to be faithfully updated. It's commercialware, but, IMO, worth every penny.

regexps
pluggable syntax coloring
a Mac-like UI
all the standard indenting and brace balancing
built-in support for HTML
multi-file regexp-based search and replace
multiple clipboards
the ability to easily run chunks of text through arbitrary external scripts (Perl or whatever)
many other things I can't think of now
