This key is used to modify alphabetic characters on the keyboard in order to produce ControlSequences?.

Usually labeled Ctrl, the Control key is pressed and held while another key is pressed. Having the Ctrl key pressed alters the scan code sent by other key, producing a control sequence. Control sequences tend to have common assignmnents. For example, the Backspace key sends Control-H to the system, and Control-C is normally used to interrupt a running process.
