Showing revision 2MINed ("My INed, a nicer INed") was written by George Williams at Caltech around 1980-1981. Originally developed on VAX/VMS and ported to many forms of Unix and Linux as well. It is a quarter-plane screen editor with extensive block mode editing commands and a macro language. MINed was inspired by Interactive Systems Corporation's
INed, itself supposedly derived from the RAND editor. MINed is completely unrelated to the better-known and more recent
mined. A few users continue to this day.
