- CygnusEd - AREXX scriptable AmigaOS? Classic editor.
- Freemacs - Open source emacs editor for MS-DOS, extensible in MINT.
- FrexxEd - AREXX scriptable AmigaOS? Classic editor.
- GnuEmacs - the big daddy of all EmacsFamily editors, extensible in elisp.
- GoldEd - (now Cubic IDE) state of the art programmer's editor for AmigaOS? Classic is AREXX and LISP featured to the bones.
- JED - Multiplatform text editor by John E. Davis. Has an embedded script language called S-Lang.
- MicroEmacs - emacs editor written by Dave Conroy, and extended by Daniel Lawrence and JASSPA. Has own script language.
- SciTE - text editor that uses Scintilla component with Lua scripting.
- SciTE-st - Open source fork of SciTE using Lua as scripting language and dynamic lexing
- TextAdept - Extensible open source editor using Lua
- VIM - Bram Moolemar's multi-platfom vi clone. Has own macro language, and can be extended in Perl, Python, Ruby, MzScheme, and Tcl.
- Zeus - a commercial programmers editor (Windows) scriptable via ActiveScript? bridge or by its own (JavaScript, Lua, Python, TCL VBScript and its own C-like language).
