I am a programmer in search of the perfect editor, but sadly aware that it may never exist.

I've tried (in approximate chronological order):

• RHIDE (SetEdit) -- MSDOS
• TextPad -- Win32
• UltraEdit -- Win32
• GnuEmacs -- Linux
• XEmacs -- FreeBSD and Linux
• JED -- Linux
• FTE -- FreeBSD
• NEDIT -- FreeBSD
• VI -- FreeBSD
• VIM -- FreeBSD, Linux and Win32
• Anjuta (Scintilla) -- FreeBSD

Currently I'm using VI, VIM, FTE and Anjuta
